What to look for on the label
- Ethyl cyanoacrylate — the standard, safe for nail plate
- Brush applicator — even coverage, no clogging
- 3g or 5g bottle — enough for 3–5 full sets before it thickens
- Manufacturing date under 12 months old — glue degrades on the shelf
What to avoid
- Cheap unbranded glue with no ingredient list
- Glue that smells extremely harsh — usually indicates cheap solvents
- Pinpoint tip glue as your primary — great for refresh, bad for full application
- Anything over 12 months from manufacture date
How much glue do I actually need?
A rice-grain drop per nail. That's 0.02 g roughly, or a 3 g bottle giving you about 150 nail applications — 15 full sets. Any more and you're creating bubbles, not stronger bonds.

FAQ
What kind of glue is best for press-on nails?
Cyanoacrylate-based nail glue in a brush-on bottle. Pinpoint tips clog after 2–3 uses; gel-hybrid glues need a UV lamp.
Can I use super glue on press-on nails?
Technically yes — most nail glues are cyanoacrylate, same base — but the viscosity and additives in nail glue are calibrated for nail plates. Super glue can irritate skin at the cuticle.
How long does nail glue last once opened?
4–6 weeks in a cool dry place. Store upright with the cap tight; heat and moisture thicken it fast.
Is brush-on or pinpoint tip better?
Brush-on. Even coverage, no clogged nozzle, easier to control the amount.
